The Homeless Experience is an attempt to share information and experiences about homelessness…facts, stories and media.
Cathy Fett has experienced, second hand, homelessness internationally while visiting Rwanda, Burundi, DR Congo and here in the US while living in Colorado. She has spent the last year pursuing information and partnerships with other organizations and people committed to reaching out to the homeless and others living in poverty.
Cathy would love the opportunity to hear your story…it will touch the hearts of many and change the lives of many more.

Hard subject. We would all like to put our heads in the proverbial sand. I watched “Precious” last night. Hate to think there are so many sad, difficult lives. It feels good to know something I do is making a difference to someone.

Hey Cathy,
I want to do a documentary on Homelessness, and i heard there was a program where you could be homeless for a weekend and you will have a chaperone to make sure you dont do anything illegal or dangerous. Let me know if you know what i am talking about.
I like your site though it is very informative! What are some things that would be helpful to do in my community to raise awareness?

I recently read ‘Under the Overpass’. A great story about 2 young men that chose homelessness for 6 months. Their website is http://www.undertheoverpass.com/uop/home.php If you contact the author, he might have some ideas of the program you are talking about. I would start there.
